About My Practice
Island Life Mental Health was born out of my desire to be a psychiatric mental health resource within my community. It is my belief that mental health should be as much of a priority as physical health.
I treat a variety of mental health conditions utilizing a wide range of psychopharmacologic agents (medications). During your initial visit I will provide a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation in order to reach a diagnosis and then choose the most appropriate treatment and/or medication that will best help your symptoms and allow you to feel better. I believe that working together as a team is the best approach to manage your mental health. We will work together to manage your symptoms and improve your overall quality of life. I consider it an honor and a privilege to be chosen as your psychiatric provider and look forward to working with you.
About Tracey Sanderbeck, APRN, PMHNP-BC
I am an ANCC Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (APRN, PMHNP-BC) trained to diagnose and prescribe medications for patients with mental health issues.
Prior to becoming a Psychiatric APRN I was an Emergency Department Registered Nurse, working in local Emergency Rooms for 30+ years. I have worked for Bardmoor & Morton Plant ER, Morton Plant psychiatric ER & inpatient pediatric psychiatric unit, St. Petersburg General ER & Northside Hospital & Heart Institute ER. I also have experience working with Veterans and worked at Bay Pines VA ER & inpatient psychiatric unit. I am a former (SANE) Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner with The Suncoast Center S.A.V.E team. I am a current provider/member of the Largo Fire Department Peer Support Team.
As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, I evaluate and diagnose mental illness and prescribe medications and provide medication management follow ups, I do not provide traditional therapy.
My patients receive a one-hour comprehensive initial psychiatric evaluation & 20-minute follow ups. I am a solo provider and my office is private, professional and relaxing. I am currently only providing services via telemedicine.
I have a passion for and specialize in working with first responders, e.g. law enforcement, fire fighters, paramedics/EMTs, 911 dispatchers, federal agents etc. who are struggling with work and/or trauma related issues.
I work with people of all ages, including children (6+) & adolescents. I care for people suffering from a wide variety of mental health issues including, but not limited to, ADD/ADHD, Trauma, PTSD, Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, OCD and Eating Disorders.
I am compassionate and strive to meet the specific needs of each individual person. I believe in treating the patient as a whole while providing an open, comfortable environment for my patients. I am conservative in my treatment approach and although I prefer the least amount of medication necessary in order to achieve the best symptom relief, I prescribe all classes of psychiatric medication. I compassionately treat each patient as if they were a family member. I am a solo practitioner and owner of my private practice which allows me to provide individualized attention to my patient’s needs. I look forward to working with you
In my off time I love offshore fishing, boating, swimming, scalloping, travelling and spending time with my husband Randy, our family and our beloved Golden Retriever “Marlin”
